  • Dr. Tom Rentschler

    Veterinarian
    Dr. Tom Rentschler grew up in northwest Iowa and attended Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, for undergraduate studies. He graduated from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. He worked in Sioux Falls prior to taking over the Tea Veterinary Clinic in February 2004. Dr. Rentschler's areas of interest are surgery (especially orthopedic surgery), internal medicine, and dermatology. Dr. Rentschler's hobbies include: cycling, reading, and playing just about any sport. He married his high school sweetheart Janelle, and they have 4 children, Mitchell, Taylor, Emersyn, and Ryker. Several pets also share their home, including 2 Teddy Bears (Winnie and Dodger) , 2 cats (Lilo and Stitch), and 3 leopard geckos (Izzy, Jordan, and Leo).

  • Dr. Andrea Ray

    Veterinarian
    Dr. Andrea Ray was born in Canada but grew up in Canton, SD. She attended South Dakota State University for her undergraduate degree and received her veterinary degree from the distinguished Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation she joined a practice in central Iowa and in 2009 joined the Tea Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Ray's veterinary interests include internal medicine, preventative care, and surgery. While Dr. Ray's focus is in small animal medicine she also has extensive knowledge of horse care, training and health. Her family includes her husband Kevin, two daughters Marlow and Vivian. In her free time Dr. Ray enjoys spending time with her family, riding horses, running, outdoor activities, listening to music and attending live concerts. Her beloved pets included a cat, Gracie Lou Freebush, a dog Tilly, and a horse named Poco.

  • Dr. Michael Swann

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Swann grew up nearby in Sioux Falls. He decided to become a veterinarian because he has always loved pets and as he grew older he enjoyed studying the sciences and problem solving so he decided to pursue a degree in Veterinary Medicine. He attended South Dakota State University for undergrad with a major in biology and minor in chemistry.  While at SDSU he worked as a grad assistant for a parasitologist.  While working towards a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Iowa State University he also worked as a technician at an emergency clinic. At the Tea Vet Clinic he really pushes cleaning your pets ears because he grew up with several cocker spaniels and still has one now named Percy who is prone to dermatology issues. He also enjoys the challenging cases that come with internal medicine and surgery. His family includes his wife, Cassie, daughter, Ceclia, and cocker spaniel Percy who is known for his old man bark and his hatred of the neighbors squirrel. When Dr Swann isn't at the clinic he enjoys playing basketball and tennis, lifting weights, watching Netflix, and walking his dog.

  • Chailee D.

    Technician

    Chailee Grew up in Seattle, Washington. She decided to make a career change from real estate to Veterinary Technician because she volunteered with a local rescue for many years and wanted to spend more time helping animals. She received her Vet Tech degree from Globe University in Sioux Falls. At the clinic she enjoys ensuring pets are getting the best care possible, educating their humans and keeping the clinic organized. Her family includes her daughter Kaeli who lives in Seattle and her pit bull; Wallace her adopted child from the Sioux Empire Pit Rescue. When she's not at work she enjoys camping, boating, and good food with friends. She is the clinic Bob Barker, known for encouraging everyone to spay and neuter their pets!

  • Kelsea S.

    Technician

    Kelsea grew up in Alpena, SD.  She knew she wanted to be a Veterinary Technician because she loves helping care for animals and educate their owners on how to provide top notch care for their pets. She has an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Globe and a Bachelors Degree of Exercise Science from DSU in Madison. At the clinic she really enjoys lab work, blood draws, and assisting with surgery and anesthesia. Her family includes: husband Shawn, 2 sons Rogen and Knox, their dog Piper a French bulldog/ Chihuahua mix who is full of energy but doesn't miss a nap, a German Shorthair Lucy, and a cat Mortimor. She also has 4 sisters. Kelsea also really enjoys helping other people reach their fitness goals and become more educated on how to get and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Anlee G.

    Groomer

    Anlee grew up right here in Tea, SD. She learned how to groom dogs through hands on training. Her favorite part of grooming is making pets feel and look better then when they came in. She has been a groomer since 2004. At the clinic she does all the grooming, helps out with things around the clinic.  In her spare time she plays with the dogs and cats here for boarding. Her family includes son Devyn, daughter Cora, three bonus kids, three dogs, three cats, four lizards, and four tarantulas. When she is not at work, she enjoys riding her Harley Davidson, playing pool and volleyball and caring for her lizards and tarantulas.

  • Kristina Callies

    Veterinary Technician

    Kristina grew up just outside of Brandon, SD. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Globe University in Sioux Falls. At the clinic, Kristina is our version of the dog whisperer. She enjoys handling the more challenging dogs. She loves to make them feel comfortable and safe during their visits to the clinic. Her favorite dog breed is the German Shepherd. When not at the clinic, Kristina enjoys playing softball, darts, boating, riding horse and motorcycles, and off roading in her beloved JEEP! Kristina's amazing husband is Chad and her handsome son is Wyatt. Their home has three pets: Eros, Willis, and Wheelie.

  • Kendra R.

    Veterinary Technician

    Kendra grew up in Worthington, Minnesota on a farm with many animals surrounding her, she always had a passion for helping the sick kittens. She graduated from Globe University in 2012 with an associates degree in Veterinary Technology and previously worked at Coble Animal Hospital in Springfield, Illinois as a technician for almost four years. At the clinic she assists the doctors and the other technicians. She enjoys venipuncture, surgery, anesthesia, microscopic slides and finds dentals to be very rewarding for pets. Her family includes her husband Christopher, a daughter Lily and another baby girl on the way. She has one cat named Bartlebee (B-cats) who loves to sit and watch the squirrels from their sliding door. Family is everything to Kendra so her interests include going to parks, fishing, and swimming at waterparks with her family.
